In the South Pacific Islands of Western Samoa, Polynesian inhabitants have, with New Zealand aid, assumed control of their own affairs, and Western Samoa is the first United Nations Trust Territory to achieve internal self -government. The film shows early morning scenes in the village; tribal elders in traditional council; children singing in school; women roofing a house. Daily work includes the shipping of exports – copra, cocoa and bananas. Metro Ministries (Baltimore)
For over 9 years, Metro Ministries has been bringing compassion and hope to the front lines of desolation and destruction. It takes an immense amount of unconditional love, perseverance, and sacrifice to establish a base where volunteers can gather resources, prepare, train, and debrief for the purpose of conducting warfare in this hostile environment. No weapon is furnished for this warfare. Metro Ministries utilizes smiles, meals, tears, home visits, seminars, community outreach, and hugs in fighting these battles. One of the main programs here is the children and youth program, 100-120 kids come through the door one night a week, to be mentored, discipled and loved. Most of these kids live in conditions you could never imagine. What the volunteers of the MetroKidz program offer these kids is a sense of hope, a sense of love and a chance to know there is something better waiting for them. The key to our success at making a difference in such an area of destruction is the sincerity of love for a down cast people, thrown away, and avoided by the masses of our society. There is nothing different about these people compared to those in Haiti, Sudan, Nicaragua, El Salvador, or anywhere else in the world where disaster, disease, famine, and poverty have made ruins. If there were a difference it isn’t in the people, it is the society. Third world countries have no hope. This power bead roller is constructed of a heavy steel framework that is electro welded for further rigidity. All rotating points have bronze bushings for long life.
